Staff Spotlight: Jim Roller

Updated: Dec 6, 2023

Next up in the Staff Spotlight is Jim Roller! Jim is a Customer Service Specialist at the Osceola Public Library. This means he is one of the faces at the customer service desk at our Osceola location. He assists with customers’ needs and day-to-day library responsibilities. He has been with the MCLS for 8 years. His favorite part of his job is getting to work with the public.

Jim can be described as creative with a great work ethic. He has had the opportunity to do several different things in his lifetime and feels his walk in life is diversified. He is also young at heart.

Osceola branch manager, Samantha Townson, works closely with Jim and shared, “There is never a dull moment when working with Jim. Jim personally stands out more than anyone I have met. One of the things I admire most is his ability to stay calm and collected in a crisis.”

Assistant Director, Billie Bowman, also has worked closely with Jim at the Osceola location. She shared her experience. “Jim is always attentive to the customers of the library. He is one of the first ones to greet you and ask how he may be of assistance. While only working with Jim in Osceola for a short time, I have enjoyed it. He is always professional and handles working with the customers well. I feel that Jim is a valuable employee to the library and look forward to working with him for many years to come.”

Jim typically reads every day. He enjoys books, blogs, and the news. His favorite book is Game On by Emmitt Smith, and his favorite type of book to read is Christian focused books.

If Jim could have any superpower, he would choose the ability to time travel.

Be sure to stop by the Osceola Public Library to see Jim. As mentioned by his coworkers, he is great with customers, and he loves getting to work with members of his community.
