Celebrate National Library Week with Us!

This coming week is National Library Week, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by visiting your local MCLS library. With six locations across the county in Blytheville, Keiser, Leachville, Manila, Osceola, and Wilson, we welcome you to spend time with us.

Thursday will be a busy day! We invite all ages to join us at the Osceola Public Library to welcome a new batch of chicken eggs to their temporary home in the incubator. At this program, Mississippi County 4H Agent Kamella Neeley will be teaching us about the development of these chicks. They will live in the incubator at the library for 21 following days. We invite you to visit them during this time and learn about their current stage of development. After the eggs are hatched, we will celebrate, and wish them well at their new homes!

That evening, teens ages 12-17 will be taking over the Manila Public Library, in style of course. This edition of Teen After Hours will be prom themed. Teens will participate in a prom attire fashion show, with the catch being they must create their outfits from supplies in the library. Newspaper prom dresses will be the next trend! We invite MissCo teens to join us at the Manila branch from 5-7pm.

These programs will be great, and we’d love for you to be there! Just remember, there doesn’t have to be a program for you to spend time at your library! Stop by your library to play in-house games, grab a Take & Make STEM Challenge, check out books for the week, or utilize one of our many services. We love our customers and would love to see your faces this week!
