Calling All Artists!

2024 is here, and we are already looking forward to summer! The Summer Reading Program is our biggest program of the year, and we are getting prepared to make this one the best yet! Let’s start the year off with an artwork contest.

We are inviting ages 5-18 to submit original artwork to be considered for use in our 2024 Summer Reading Program promotional materials. The contest will be split into two categories: ages 5-12 will be the first category and ages 13-18 will fit into the second category. One winner will be selected for each group.

The winning artist from the younger category will have their artwork appear on one style of T-shirt and any other promotional materials as we see fit. The winner from the older category will have their artwork appear on one style of T-shirt, yard signs, and any other promotional materials as we see fit. Each winner will receive one free shirt with their design.

This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library” so the artwork would need to follow that general theme, but still be creative and original. Designs should fit on one 8.5" X 11" paper. Any other size will not be considered. The artwork should be original work in bold color. Please write the artist's name, age, and contact information for their guardian on the back of the artwork. Submissions will be judged based on creativity rather than skill.

All entries should be turned into any of our 6 Mississippi County Library System locations by February 16th, 2024. Our public library locations are in Blytheville, Keiser, Leachville, Manila, Osceola, and Wilson. For details on each library’s hours of operations, please see our website (www.mclibrary.net) under the “locations” tab.

Good luck, artists!
